Parenting Book Spine Poetry: Slice of Life 28/31 #sol17

slice of life

I’ve been wanting to try book spine poetry for some time, but I always feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of books on my shelves. How could I possibly sort through the thousands of titles in my house to construct poems? Then I discovered a workaround on Leigh Anne’s blog: limit the overwhelm by limiting the shelves! Leigh Anne used her professional development books to create poetry. I decided to create poems from the books on my parenting shelf.

As soon as I started creating book stacks, several curious cats showed up. Frances makes an appearance in the final book spine poem.

  1. Wow! I love this slice. Love the visual story your book spines tell. Ten years ago, when my wife and I struggled to have children, our book spines looked similar. Now that our twins are 8 and our daughter is 7, we have similar parenting books like yours. Thank you for showing me an interesting way to tell a story!
