There’s a number of these on my to-read list
I love good recommendations! I’ve been enjoying your series on the Newbury Winners (sp?) So far, Georgia is my only serious reader (but I’m keeping my fingers crossed about the other two!) and I’m always looking for good books for her. She reads around the 5th grade level.
I would never inflict most of the Newberys I’ve been reading on poor Georgia! But I bet she’d like Rebecca Stead’s books. When You Reach Me is best read after you’ve read A Wrinkle in Time (now in an awesome new graphic novel format by Hope Larson!), but Liar & Spy is a standalone, and it’s so good! I’d also recommend Wonder by R.J. Paloccio and The One and Only Ivan by Katharine Applegate. She might like both of those.
